Spending time with friends this weekend and looking at jewelry made me ponder-what is my favorite piece of jewelry? Glancing through my jewelry I noticed my favorite right away, a Milefiori glass pendant my grandma gave me out of her jewelry box when I was 12. I loved to look at her jewelry and always pulled this pendant out to look closely at the colors. My grandpa had given it to her, having picked it out himself. Now I wear it sometimes and think of her. Now, typing this I see the glint on my left finger and realize that I am always wearing my true favorite piece of jewelry. It is my wedding ring, a plain white gold band that has become a part of me, always there, always mine. :)

So…besides the sappy response “my wedding ring”…what’s your favorite piece of jewelry…and honestly when’s the last time you wore it?"

Welcome to my first official blog. I have no idea how this will turn out but here it goes...

I make jewelry and am often asked how to care for silver jewelry. I know it is not always safe to use the ultrasonic cleaner and that soap & water are fine for removing oils and dirt. I tell folks to store their jewelry in plastic zip bags to limit air exposure-tarnishing. I also use my polishing cloth and equipment to shine up old jewelry from time to time. I have thought about selling little polish cloths but haven't decided.
