Pets are people too

We are off today, a MONDAY, how strange it feels! I kinda like it. Anyway, just a day of errands and such but enjoyable. At Lowe's I met a lady with her Dachshund doggie laying regally in the child seat of the cart, all blanket padded and loving the shopping. That's cool that Lowe's lets you bring a dog inside. Wish I got a picture of that shopping duo.

My pets have been in my life for a long time. I am seeing them age right now and it is hard sometimes. I want them to stay well and happy but they go through most things people go through like arthritis, senility, disease and cancer. So sad but really it is worth it, they gave me companionship in my loneliest times and are so attached to me. I do feel Pets are People too.

Here are some lovely stories for pets. Hug your pet for me, and if you don't have a pet, consider saving one today from a shelter.

Save a life, find some love.

My favorite day

My favorite day! It's a very breezy and warm Sunday in the Ozarks, pushing 80 degrees so far and we do have some rain in the forecast soon, yay! I am going to work on some jewelry photos this afternoon with all this lovely light. Hope you are enjoying your day, here is a couple of snapshots of the week.

Meet Chaquita, she is 17 years old and doing very well. She is mercurial like me. Originally named Loretta, a lovely name don't get me wrong, but not her real name. She is a polydactyl cat, having extra toes, and is a very strange red brown tortoiseshell colored feline. We have been together for all 17 years, minus a 5 week hiatus in which she disappeared at the age of 11 for parts unknown, returning very skinny and smelling of automotive grease. She still will not tell me that story.

I had the pleasure of attending a baby shower (with baby! loved it) and was enthralled by the little guy when it was my turn to hold him (not me in picture). Lots of boys being born in my circle this year.

Do you thrift store shop? It takes a certain person, whether out of necessity or out of curiosity. I have been in both situations and so have kept the curiosity alive. Junk or treasures, it is all a perspective in life.

I obsessively took fifteen shots of this sunset and only with a phone, it was very pretty but the photos didn't quite capture it.

fuel'r up Sundays flying by

Sundays usually slow down the week and allow us to recharge for the next one. Seems that we're going really fast this summer. Have you taken a moment yet this summer to really slow down, recharge yourself? It's all about energy. I am starting to notice that we take it for granted in ourselves as much as we do the air conditioner or the car, until we pay the bills, right? That's what my random photos seem to be saying to me this week. I will try to listen. Have a great week!
