For many Americans Memorial Weekend is a time to honor our fallen soldiers, for remembering our ancestors and our passed loved ones by decorating the cemeteries with bright colors, love and tears. The rest of the weekend is spent enjoying the first holiday of the summer with family, friends, fun in the sun, cook outs, and of course water!
With everyone home, we spent the weekend playing in the pool and relaxing at home.
Water is one of the most amazing things on this planet. I know that there are places where water is so scarce that every drop is important. Here we are blessed with normally abundant water but lately it has been dry and I find myself conscious of all the water around me and how much we depend on it.
We have to water our vegetable gardens almost daily. Several trees are dropping leaves.
We don't water the grass.
I haven't set up our fountain.
Our new pond is a puddle so far.
I have faith that rain is coming and for now will just be thankful for the water we do have...
We went to town for tomatoes and errands and a garage sale for a new to us elliptical, yay! and down the road we got a clean truck for a good cause (notice all the water shots I took).
Picking up movies on our way back home, I couldn't decide it this was a foreshadowing of a weird weather summer or just a good photo to take as a joke.
I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Weekend!
