summer solstice

I watch the length of daylight all year long and my favorites are summer solstice, the longest day and the day after winter solstice-because the days are starting to get longer. Don't know why, just do it and have done it for a long time. I like sunsets the most I guess that might be why. The seasons are so distinct here in the Ozarks and now Summer is officially here!

I named this necklace Summer Solstice, not just because I made it last night, but because it reminds me of water and the lake and going to the lake on the longest day of the year to watch the sun set on the water.
The materials are the stones Amazonite, Labradorite, and Hematite and sterling silver. The Labradorite will shimmer in silvers and blues and sometimes golds, just like that lake did.
Hope you like it!

Tonight I walked around enjoying the gloaming light and a soft breeze, with camera in hand. It has been dry but there are some pretty flowers to see, this is a butterfly bush with a bee.

I don't know the name of this lilly but it surely must be Sunset!

I didn't plant anything in this spot but black eyed Susan's have found a home.

This is Superdude's cacti garden, he is expanding this year!

Walking the field in the sunset is a favorite thing around here.

Happy Summer to you!
